What is Equine Equine OxyShot®
|
Equine OxyShot® is a proprietary formulation using CSO2™ (Charged Stabilised Oxygen) technology and consists of a pH-balanced liquid electrolyte solution of deionised water, bioavailable oxygen and sea salt, which all work, together to form a highly concentrated stable form of oxygen that easily dissolves into the blood stream when ingested.

Why is Oxygen so important?

- During times of stress or strenuous exercise, the body’s demand for oxygen increases in order to allow muscle cells to respire and release adequate amounts of energy through the oxidation of sugar (aerobic respiration)1

- Toxins in the atmosphere or those released from bacteria and viruses also demand the body’s supply of oxygen in order to metabolise and eliminate their harmful products. Oxygen is also consumed by the immune system when the body experiences physical trauma, as it is needed for metabolism involved in the inflammatory response

- When the body cannot obtain enough oxygen, cells begin to respire anaerobically so that they can still provide a source of energy. However, this process of energy release in the absence of oxygen causes the production of lactic acid, which builds up in tissues and may cause many problems such as fatigue, muscle soreness and acidosis2,3.

- Once oxygen becomes available again, the lactic acid requires catabolising (or oxidising) to carbon dioxide and water3, which are less toxic to the body. Oxygen is also needed to replenish that which has been borrowed from other internal systems, such as the lungs and haemoglobin.

How Equine OxyShot® works
